I will praise you Lord, in the assembly of your people. (Psalm 22)

Liturgy is the center of our parish.  Of all the things our church does, nothing is more important than Sunday Eucharist.  The Eucharistic Celebration is the gathering of all God’s people to worship and partake of the sacred meal – food for our journeys through life.

The Church’s mission requires the participation of everyone, both in worship and in prayer.  In order to provide the best liturgical celebrations possible, we rely on the help of our parishioners in various liturgical ministries. We welcome new volunteers throughout the year, and provide training and ongoing spiritual formation.

Acolytes and Servers – these ministers serve at the altar and assist the priest.
Lectors – these ministers proclaim the readings from Sacred Scripture.
Musicians – the choir, cantor and instrumentalists all contribute to singing during mass.
Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion – these ministers help to distribute the Body and Blood of Christ to the faithful.
Ushers and Greeters – in addition to taking up the collection during Mass, these ministers welcome the assembly to the Eucharistic celebration and provide assistance during emergencies.
Art and Environment – these ministers manage the ambiance of the Church, providing decoration to enhance the liturgical season.
Sacristan - the sacristan arranges the liturgical books, vestments and other things necessary for the celebration of Mass.
Liturgy Commission – these people gather to pray and discern the direction for liturgical seasons in the parish.  All the assembly is welcome to join the commission.

If you are interested in helping in any of these ministries please call the Office at 708-485-2900.
