Girl Scouts
Girl Scouts is a diverse organization open to all girls from Kindergarten through High School. Adult volunteers are also active in the Girl Scout movement. Interested adults and girls are asked to call the Girl Scout Parish organizer for more information. Girl Scouts of Greater Chicago and Northwest Indiana (GCNWI), our regionally-located Gathering Place is in Lisle and covers many of the near western suburbs, which includes St. Barbara Parish.

Boy Scouts
Scouting uses a fun program to promote character development, citizenship training and personal fitness for every member. Any boy can be a Boy Scout if he has completed the fifth grade, or is eleven years old, or earned the Arrow of Light Award, but is younger than 18 years of age. Meetings are held Monday evenings in the Parish Center.

Alcoholics Anonymous
AA meets on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday mornings at 10:00 a.m. and on Thursdays at 7:30 p.m. All meetings take place in the Parish Center. AA is a twelve step program for recovering alcoholics.

Al-Anon meets on Wednesdays at 10:00 a.m. in the Parish Center. Al-Anon is a recovery program offering strength and hope for friends and families of problem drinkers.

School and Tutors on Wheels
Learn English with your own tutor. Free tutoring is offered one hour each week. This service is provided by the Congregation of St. Joseph and is available at St. Barbara School on Tuesday. Call 708-609-0945 in the a.m., and 708-482-5077 in the p.m. for more information.
